The Dynamo Need YOU

From: The Texian Army

Date: March 12, 2013

Fellow Dynamo Fans,

Over the past seven years, we've experienced a lot together. After many frustrating years, we finally got a beautiful stadium our Dynamo can call home. We've felt our hearts drop as we faced the agony of defeat at the hands of lesser opponents. We've also raised our hands in celebration as our adored Dynamo hoisted two MLS Cups, four Conference Championships, and established Houston as one of the most feared places in the league for opponents to play.

Regardless of the outcome, one thing has always remained constant: our undying love for the Dynamo. That love has fueled the Texian Army's support these past seven years: Dozens of flags, hundreds of yards of painted fabric, thousands of balloons - We drum, we jump, we sing.

But Texian Army knows that we aren't the Dynamo's only passionate fans. We're all in this together. We all want to see the Dynamo beat the crap out of FC Dallas and we know the men in Orange play their best ball when they are well supported. So to that end, we'd like to invite you to join us on a bus trip to FC Dallas Stadium on March 17.

An Unforgettable Experience

One of our callings as supporters is to back the Dynamo when they're away from home. Few things in life are more gratifying than going into a hostile environment, uniting with brothers and sisters in orange, and supporting the Dynamo - win or lose. It is an experience that you never forget. And our players and coaches notice.

You can see it in the players' faces when they walk over to thank the traveling supporters after the final whistle. You realize that they knew you were there the whole game. They see and appreciate that you sacrificed your limited time and hard earned money to support them.

It is one of those moments when you feel an incredible connection to something bigger than yourself. You realize that it's a feeling that the most die-hard Texans, Astros, and Rockets fans will never experience.

Care for a few adult beverages along the way?

We're big fans of Saint Arnold Brewing Company in Texian Army. They're local. A few of their employees are Texian Army members. And we love their beer!

Seeing as how we're departing very early on a Sunday morning and we won't have time to do our usual stop at Bucc-ee's on the way up, we'll be providing two Saint Arnold kegs: one of Lawnmower and one of Spring Bock for all bus riders ages 21 and up.

Anything else you'd like to bring along to drink is welcome. Just keep cooler sizes within reason, don't spill, and drink responsibly.

The Most Affordable Way To Get To Frisco

Let's do a little cost estimation if you were to drive. Say your car gets 25 miles per gallon and gas costs $3.53 per gallon. FC Dallas Stadium is 269 miles from Houston and we'll assume single game tickets will cost $20 at the gate.

  • 269 miles x 2 = 538 miles roundtrip
  • 538 miles / 25 miles per gallon = 21.52 gallons of gas
  • 21.52 gallons x $3.53 per gallon = $75.97 total gas cost
  • $75.97 gas cost + $20 game ticket = $95.97 total expense
  • OR...

For only $45 you can sit back, make some new friends, and support the Dynamo when they need you most - on the road.  You save 115% by letting us take care of your transportation and ticket.

Meet Other Dynamo Fans Like You

I bet your friends and people at work think you're a little nutty for being a die-hard Dynamo fan. They casually ask you how the Dynamo are doing to make small talk. They don't really care. But they know you do.

You resist the urge to get wide-eyed and answer "Awesome! On Saturday night, Brad Davis whipped in a nasty in-swinging corner and Bobby finished brilliantly on the header!!!" But you know this would be met with blank stares. So you contain your excitement because you have no one to share it with.

You are not alone.  On this trip you'll have plenty of time to meet and mingle with Dynamo fans just like you.  Network, talk Dynamo ball, and make some new friends on the bus during the trip up to Frisco. You'll be surrounded by good people who have the same passion for the Dynamo that you do.

“It’s a great feeling to look up in the stands and see a group of Dynamo supporters when we’re on the road. There is no doubt that it gives us a little boost and added energy in a hostile setting. We really appreciate the extra effort our fans make in supporting us away from BBVA Compass Stadium. Playing FC Dallas is always a battle, and it always helps when there’s a sea of orange at FC Dallas Stadium.”
